Ben Blackwell received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of New Orleans and his Masters of Music degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also holds a lifetime teaching certificate in the State of Louisiana.

Ben Blackwell has been a music educator for the last 16 years in the St. Charles Parish School System. For the last 26 years, he has also served as Minister of Music in Southern Baptist Churches in Louisiana and in Mississippi. Ben has had the privilege of playing in orchestras for various Broadway musicals, ballets, and theatre productions in the city of New Orleans.

During the school year 1997-1998, Ben was chosen as Teacher of the Year for the school where he teaches and he was chosen as Elementary Teacher of the Year for St. Charles Parish School System. This is an honor that he truly cherishes.

Ben enjoys teaching students the joy of studying music and perfecting their skills.
