Hymel’s School of Music Lesson Policy
In order to provide the most professional study of
music possible, a lesson policy is needed. We ask that you please read this
policy carefully.
1. Fees: The fees paid are for four lessons per month. If there are five weeks in a month, you teacher will
teach you on the 5th week. These lessons will be used as makeup
lessons, in case a lesson is missed. Payments are to be made no later
than the 5th of each month. If payment is made after the 5th,
there will be a $10.00 late fee due upon payment of lesson fee, and
you will forfeit all makeup lessons. There is a $25.00 yearly
registration fee to maintain enrollment at the school. This fee is due EVERY JANUARY.
2. Missed Lessons: If a student misses a
lesson for any non emergency reason, the lesson will not be made up. You will get a makeup lesson if the teacher cancels the lesson, and if
you talk to your teacher in advance about missing a lesson. If you just
don’t show up to your lesson, it will be considered taught and not eligible
for a makeup lesson. In case of emergencies, exceptions will be made. From
time to time, your teacher will need to cancel lessons to play music
professionally. In this case, the school will not require the lesson be made
up within a certain time frame. Your teacher will arrange the make up
lesson. It is important to maintain a regular schedule in your study of
music.
3. December: The school will be closed for
two weeks at the end of December. By teaching the 5th week of
certain months, you will have these two weeks made up in advance. Full
payment for December is required to maintain your enrollment in the school.
4. NSF Checks: All checks returned NSF will
have a $30.00 charge added upon repayment. If you plan to be gone for
most of a month, it will be policy to pay for that month in advance, to
reserve you time slot. If you don’t pay in advance you will have to
re-register with the school. Our lessons run back to back. Do your best
to be on time for your lesson.
Finally, you have a rare opportunity to study music
with experienced and caring teachers. Do your part by being involved and
practicing on a regular basis. Together, we can grow and musically and
personally, and perhaps achieve things others only dream of!
